Advertising strategies to get the best candidates

The Advertisement

The first thing to do is to write a great advertisement! At this, Barclay Recruitment are experts! It is an art to describe the company, the opportunity, the role and the career path in a way that makes the candidate want to enthusiastically apply.

Newspaper Advertising

This is probably the first port of call for people seeking employment and therefore should be included in the Advertising Strategy. However, don't make the mistake of advertising in your own name or, even worse, advertising without any company identification - this sends a negative message to the candidates as they wonder what you are trying to hide, and the good candidates won't send their resume in to just anyone in any case.

When a new assignment is accepted we immediately contact the relevant candidates on our database by mail and email to bring the position to their attention. This is a very powerful tool as candidates feel complimented when approached to consider a new position.
